Since its debut in early 2024, Love and Deepspace (L&D) has already surpassed 50 million registered players worldwide and continues to gain momentum. One year after its launch, both the game's player base and revenue are growing at a pace that most Gacha or Otome games can only dream of.
In a saturated mobile market filled with Gacha titles, L&D’s sustained success feels almost surreal. In March 2025, the game generated $75 million — nearly double the earnings of Genshin Impact — making it the second-highest-grossing mobile game, just behind Pokémon TCG: Pocket.
I am skeptical that any competitor in the genre will be able to match the popularity and monetization power of L&D anytime soon. However, I remain curious about what the studio, Infold Games, might want to focus on for long-term success.
In this project, I shared my holistic understanding of the game. How does it integrate two seemingly (and usually) unrelated genres: ARPG and Otome? How can a grind-heavy game maintain such strong momentum? And what are some things I would like to see, despite the game's well-established success?
